In these isolated times many bands have made ‘lockdown’ recordings, compiled from individual recordings made at home, but not many have recorded an entire test piece under these conditions. That is exactly what the City of Birmingham Brass Band undertook, with their lockdown recording of the recent Area Contest test piece Neverland by Christopher Bond. The composer graciously granted his approval to the project which was coordinated and edited by band member Nick Poole. Everyone involved had great fun making their recordings and are really proud of the result. Particular thanks to Nick for his indefatigable work in editing the sound recording, and to Alexander Cottrell for putting together the video which is now available to view on Youtube.
