CBBB takes part in Commonwealth Day

It’s been a busy time for the band. Riding high on the results from the Midlands Area contest, the band took part in a Commonwealth Ceremony on Monday at the Council House, Birmingham.

Alongside Birmingham City Council Choir, Claire Noakes, and Eternal Taal the band performed to dignitaries, faith leaders and congregation in a celebration of friendship.

It was an honour to be part of this event to mark this special day in our home city.

Celebrating the Commonwealth

On the 9th March, with people from around the world, we’ll be taking part in the annual celebration for Commonwealth Day.

Birmingham is holding its own event at the Council House at which the City of Birmingham Brass Band will be entertaining visitors as they enter and leave the ceremony.  We’ll also be accompanying the congregation for hymns and the national anthem.

The ceremony will be attended by the Lord Mayor of Birmingham alongside other celebrated guests representing member countries. Birmingham City Council Choir, Eternal Taal, and Clare Noakes will be performing to commemorate the occasion.

There are more than 2.4 billion people within the Commonwealth and we’re delighted to be taking part in joining people together in our home city.
